Why do I need to aerate my lawn?

Aeration is key for keeping soil soft, balanced and healthy. Over the course of a year your turf takes a constant pounding from rain, people and atmospheric pressure. This is known as compaction. As is the soil is packed down it becomes hard creating a barrier that is impenetrable to water. The result is lawn that is susceptible to drought and dehydration.
